So today I am using my WWYHS blog account to do some informing on a terrible additive that natural companies are using.  This chemical causes all sorts of problems, and it is in most cosmetics, shampoos, conditioners, lotions, cleaners, cleansers, and many other natural companies.

It is so frustrating to finally find companies that are supposed to be using all natural products, only to see they have not done their research and are creating products that harm.   Companies like Brandless, Kiss My Face, The Honest Company, Jason and Now brands, that’s just to name a few.

This chemical is being touted as all natural and a better alternative to parabens.  While Parabens have many side effects and can cause health issues, Phenoxyethanol seems worse to me.  You can read up on Phenoxyethanol here>>>>>http://www.wellnesstoday.com/beauty/phenoxyethanol-in-beauty-products-is-it-safe (Reminder this is just one site, there are hundreds more out there).   Using the internet is like being a CSI agent, use your gut instincts.

Phenoxyethanol is supposed to keep mold and bacteria from growing in these products, so they have a longer shelf life.  I think that smaller batches and a much safer ingredient can be used to keep a product safe.

There is a lot of misinformation on the web these days, so it is hard to know what to believe.  I believe that if you try something and have an adverse reaction than there lies your answers.

I have been working on getting my hormones under control since 2008.  It’s been hard due to an un-necessary hysterectomy I had.  If you have been with me for a while, you know that I was given a hysterectomy even though I told the doctor I did not want one.  She took it upon herself to do what she wanted.  Since doctors are beneath the law, I could not obtain a lawyer to go after.  I digress here but, it’s hard to get your hormones in shape you can’t be eating crappy food and slathering on your body a bunch of chemicals.

So while studying the effects of FDA approved chemicals I found that many have a way of affecting our hormones, not just woman either.  I was so disappointed to see that many of the natural companies I use have now started to use a hormonal disruptor that causing many side effects.

It just goes to show you that you need to look into all ingredients in the products you buy.  I check every time I go to get a new product because these companies are changing their ingredients without telling their buyers. So do your research on your products, there is more in them then you might know about.
